Above is BT Research & Development Labs. This is where Carl in the 1980's contributed to the development of the ISDN technology that was subsequently deployed to UK customers. This was prior to creating SMS text messaging at a startup that became the Orange mobile phone network. Orange UK and T-Mobile merged many years ago and has since been bought by BT and is now known as EE.
Carl set up Cochrane Consulting back in 1997 as a vehicle to help businesses with their technology and financial decisions. Initially offering cost reduction and management services for telecoms by auditing and providing cost saving recommendations. Clients ranged from small businesses in logistics and oil and gas through to aviation such as EasyJet. This has now expanded into providing consulting services from strategy, design, procurement through to technology based project implementations.
Clients include UK and overseas Government departments, large businesses and owner-directors of Small-Medium Enterprises (SME) in the UK.
Carl is a Chartered Engineer and holds a degree in Electronic Communication as well as a MBA. This means that clients get a technical and commercial perspective when considering strategic options for their projects.
